From Mario to Mario, an almost century-old tradition
A timeless stone has been extracted from our quarries, the Roman Travertine. The same stone basin was mined by the ancient Romans to build monuments or architectural structures. As a common thread that connects past to present, for almost 100 years we have been extracting and exporting the historic and traditional Roman Travertine all over the world.
Our quarries are located in Tivoli and in Xalapa, the capital city of the state of Veracruz, Mexico. These geological areas are famous for the production and extraction of Roman Travertine.
A thousand-year history of extraction
The geological features of Tivoli together with its sulphur-rich water create particular natural conditions for the production of Roman Travertine. The hydrologic characteristics of this stone differ from any other material in the world. The Roman Travertine of Tivoli is unique in terms of consistency, density, and specific weight. Every day huge blocks of Roman Travertine are extracted, transported, and transformed by a team of experts.
An important overseas landmark
Our global presence is also supported and strengthened by the production and extraction of Roman Travertine across the ocean. Our quarry in Xalapa is an important overseas landmark where huge quantities of Roman Travertine are mined and exported. Thanks to the latest-generation machinery, experience, and knowledge of our team, the blocks are extracted, cut, sawn, transformed into slabs or cut-to-size tiles, and finally transported all over the world.
